Background & Justification

• Humanity is currently afflicted by many self-created problems like poverty, hunger, racial discrimination, communal clashes, religious intolerance, political over-dominance, and wars.
• The consequence is that real joy and peace remain a distant dream for most people.
• The real problem is not the lack of action, but the lack of unity in resolving these issues, suggesting the problem lies within ourselves.
• It's time for awakened ones (Individuals and Institutions) to unite to usher in real unity, fraternity, peace, and prosperity.
• Ancient cultures, religions, philosophies, and modern science all point to the truth that we are all One and everything is interconnected.

Concept & Mode of Operation

• A Chusquemple Mithra Mela is a public, semi-formal, friendly gathering of diverse individuals and institutions aspiring to stand for the unity, peace, and prosperity of Humanity.
• Their purpose is to generate a greater sense of belongingness, social responsibility, sharing, and caring.
• They aim to foster an atmosphere of love and joy, harmony, fraternity, and peace irrespective of differences (religion, race, caste, politics, gender, etc.).
• The motto is “Unite for the Welfare of the World”.
• The Melas will serve as platforms to disseminate messages of love, joy, sharing, caring, equality, fraternity, peace, and positivity.
• The programs may include keynote addresses, informal speeches, interactive sessions, and socio-cultural artistic programs.
• Ethos: All attendees are part of the audience; no special dais will be available. Speakers and performers return to the audience after their segment.
• The Melas are mainly managed by co-ordinators and will include volunteers, invited speakers, and chief guests.
• One segment of the program will invariably be for interaction with the general public.
• Expenses will be met through sponsorships and donations.
• The Inaugural Mithra Mela will be held in Engandiyur, Thrissur District, Kerala.
• Following the Inaugural Mithra Mela a series of priliminary level Mithra Melas will be held in various panchayaths in Thrissur District, Kerala.
• Thereafter, Mithra Melas will be held outside the District of Thrissur too. 
• Thereafter, efforts will be taken to hold Mithra Melas outside the State of Kerala too.
• Thereafter effots will be made to spread across the nation and the globe.
• Meanwhile certain Special Mithra Melas to cater to the needs of (and for unification and cooperation amongst) specialised categories of people will also be held, time and agian, as needed. (eg., for students, for Youth, for Women, for certain Marginalised Sections of society, for various divisive factions of a Religion, for Political Parties, etc.)

Synopsis

• Chusquemple Mithra Melas are secular, semi-formal, friendly get-togethers that are a positive and progressive response to the maladies humanity is afflicted with.
• They will be initiated from the local levels, built across various higher levels and efforts be made to spread them across the nation and the globe.
• They hold the potential to usher in times when humanity will be free from hunger, poverty, hate, prejudice, discrimination, and discord.
• They will serve as a celebration of universal love and joy and a propagation of unity
